The IDC Foundation is the legacy of the Institute of Design and Construction. The Foundation provides grants to educational institutions in Greater New York City to advance research and the training of students in fields relating to architectural design, engineering, and building construction.
Since its founding in 2015, the IDC Foundation has provided grants of more than $14 million to five institutions of higher education in Greater New York City:
A core component of the IDC Foundation’s grantmaking is the creation and support of innovation spaces – physical settings where students, faculty members, and others can explore creatively the interaction of architecture, engineering, and building construction. With IDC Foundation support, innovation spaces foster ingenuity at Columbia GSAPP, NYIT, Pratt Institute, and The Cooper Union.
